Does Avaya IP Office Essential Edition Cost Too Much to Maintain?

The word on the street and in the Cloud, the Avaya IP Office costs too much to maintain.  Most of those Cloud Providers have no idea that the IP Office comes in several additions, with the most popular being the IP Office Essential Edition. 

TTI decided to put this myth to the test to see if what they are saying is true. We went through our IP Office customers from 2018 to 2020 to see what they spent to maintain their system. It includes customers that needed a forced upgrade, power surges and malfunctions of their Avaya IP Office Phone System and equipment.

TTI has IP Office customers that range from 5 to 100 phones per account. Many of our customers are single site customers who have an Avaya IP Office Phone System with SIP Trunks, PRI T1, or POTS Lines. 

We noticed the two parts that failed the most was the internal power supply inside the IP Office cabinet and the external power supply on the Digital 16, Digital 30 and Phone 30 Modules. We now see these parts failing more with systems approaching 10 years old.

The cost to replace the internal power supply includes parts, shipping, travel and labor = $400.00.  The cost to replace the external power supply = $245.00. 

We did have some upgrades and failed equipment that cost over 1K but when we averaged our all our customers we found the cost was minimal to maintain. 

The Avaya IP Office has proven to be everything as durable as the Merlin Legend and Magix Phone Systems were. This test is not to say IP Office is better than a Cloud System, it merely shows what the competition is telling those with IP Office that it cost too much to maintain is not true.
